Film producer BosBros (Miss Minoes, Winky’s Horse and The Amazing Wiplala) will support the Best Project in Development Award, to be given during the Cinekid for Professionals Award Ceremony, Friday 27 October 2017.
The Award Ceremony concludes the Junior Co-production Market, the international integrated two-day event that enables financiers, broadcasters and producers to assess new and innovative children’s projects across film and television sectors.
All projects selected for the Junior Co-production Market are eligible for the Award and the eventual winner will be selected by a three-member jury. The Burny Bos Best Project Award consists of a €2,500 cash prize and the company’s assistance in realising the project.
Burny Bos (The Netherlands)
Burny Bos started his professional career as a programme maker in the early 1980s, initially for radio. His next step was to set up a children’s department for TV broadcaster VPRO, which yielded numerous famous and celebrated TV formats. In 1989, Burny started his own production company BosBros. Over the past 25 years, Burny’s aim has been to produce beautiful programs and films with passionate people. films such as The Flying Liftboy, Miss Minoes, Winky’s Horse, Alfie, The Little Werewolf and The Amazing Wiplala. Judging from the number of international awards and prizes BosBros has won, one can say that this philosophy has paid off. Burny is also the author of many children’s books.
Cinekid for Professionals
Cinekid for Professionals is an international industry event during the Cinekid Festival in October that brings together TV buyers, producers, distributors, directors, networks, sales agents, entertainment companies, academics and journalists, all of whom direct a laser focus on children’s media.
